The Sentiero del Viandante (Wayfarer‘s Path), an epic itinerary, is the ancient communication route along the eastern branch of Lake Como. Approximately 45 km long, it connects Abbadia Lariana (north of Lecco) with Colico, and can then be extended by continuing towards Switzerland or Valtellina, or by descending along the Adda river towards Milan, a very long route that once connected the important city of Milan to the heart of Europe.
We propose the‘classic‘ version, the one that runs along the lake and offers the most beautiful views! The route passes picturesque villages, ancient courtyards and ruins, small mountain churches, terraced vineyards and olive groves. Deserved stops will allow us to contemplate and photograph these breathtaking landscapes.
It is possible to walk the Wayfarer in a single 4-day journey, staying overnight at B&Bs along the way, or to do individual stages. The towns along the route are well connected by the railway network, giving you the possibility to return to your base after each leg.
