A ring between the lake and the mountain in beautiful Tremezzina, discovering a Romanesque jewel hidden in the forest . We start practically from the lake and climb admiring the amazing plaster figures in the chapels of Sacro Monte di Lenno until we reach the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Soccorso, a Unesco heritage site. A ‘spiritual bulwark’ built in times of counter-reformation.
Â
Â
The climb becomes steeper through meadows and alpine pastures before entering a dense forest traversed by humid streams, and we calmly reach the highest point of the route where, almost suddenly, a unique church appears, at least for its location: San Benedetto
We then return along a scenic cartroad that leads us back to the village of Lenno, giving us new glimpses of the most romantic stretch of the Lario. Magri before returning, we make a stop at the ‘Cooperativa’, one of the few bowling alleys still active, also named in music by the Singer of the Lario Davide Van DeSfroos
