We leave from Lecco with few cars and drive to the Rifugio Roccoli Lorla (1 hour by car). From here begins our long walk through a fir forest, initially with little incline, passing by the huts Zocca della Nebbia, Piazza d’Arogno and Piazza di Sopra. Here the route becomes steeper, climbing up a slope to Porta dei Merli 2124 m; a traverse equipped with a rope (not necessary on dry ground) leads to the Silvestri – Ca’ de Legn bivouac at 2146 m, where we can take a moment’s rest.
From here the final ascent begins, the last 400 m on a rather steep slope. Some short sections are equipped with fixed ropes, which are useful in the last short rocky section to reach the summit. We descend on the same route as on the outward journey.
