Sentiero delle Foppe, Rifugio Rosalba

The Wild Charm of the Grigne, that corner of the Dolomites in our Pre-Alps, among towers and pinnacles, up there where eagles dare… We will reach the historic Rosalba refuge (1,730m) along a rocky trail recommended for hikers with experience on mountain trails.

PROGRAM:

From the parking lot we will walk through a beech forest downhill for about 2km (30m), and then take the Foppe trail that in about 2.30 h, along dirt roads and rocky switchbacks, will lead us to Rif. Rosalba. We will find a couple of points with chains, but this is not a true equipped trail; chains can be helpful in case the rock is wet and slippery. Packed lunch or lunch at the hut (depending on table availability and time), then return on the same trail taken on the outward journey.

WHAT TO BRING:

Hiking boots (not sneakers), a change of shirt, sweater/fleece (it can get cold at the summit), a rain jacket, walking poles for those who find them comfortable, at least one liter of water-we point out that there are no springs along the trail.
