Just above Como and Cernobbio, views, art and stories on the border
A discovery for me too, this splendid ring with few people and a lot of history next to much better-known places: Mount Bisbino and the prestigious village of Cernobbio. We climb up to encounter signs of the epic of smuggling: ramine, patrol ladders, posts, an ancient history that has marked the area. We cross sometimes intricate but well-maintained woods to discover vantage points that are as distant as they are surprising. Small hamlets like Duello or Piazzola with terraces and chestnut groves in the sun. And on the way we notice funny carved figures who knows who the author is.
We will find out on the way back where our childlike souls will enjoy discovering funny and ..wise animals. We arrived at the Belvedere della Crus de L’omm (another story to tell) and the small church of Sant’Abbondio. The works that surround us are the work of Gio’ Aramini, his home nearby is unmistakable! It is he, an artist in nature, who skilfully takes care of these places. What can I say? A rich and unusual excursion.

Meeting point: 9:30 a.m. at the GRAN MERCATO supermarket car park (lake side bar) in Via Sebenico in Como (hamlet of Tavernola). From there with a few cars we reach the starting point of the route in Cernobbio (few parking spaces)
