We walk through spectacular forests to discover the Japanese philosophy of Shinrin Yoku: why nature helps us feel better
Shinrin-yoku (森林浴 in Italian, ‘to benefit from the atmosphere of the forest’) is a term in the Japanese language for a particular branch of medical science that claims that spending more time in nature has surprising health benefits. In a series of studies, scientists have found that when people spend a few hours in a more natural environment (forests, parks and other places with a large concentration of trees) there is an increase in immune function.
Spending time walking in the woods brings numerous benefits, including lower stress levels (lower cortisol concentrations), lower heart rate and blood pressure, and a cure for depression. We will discover how nature helps us feel better
It will be a light walk where we learn to disconnect from our problems and seek harmony with the natural world through the 5 senses for a full immersion in nature,
