Starry Evening – 4 May

We begin the month of May with a unique experience!

The unchanging magic of the stars shining at night, a splendid sunset walk, encounters with wild animals, and when darkness falls, a young astronomer will guide us to discover the mysteries of the vast infinite space .

Science and mythology, sophisticated technology and evocative storytelling.

Starting on foot from the village of Sormano, we climb up a steep grassy slope frequented by mouflons . In cheerful company we enjoy our picnic dinner and an inevitable glass of wine as the sun slowly sets .

Along a wide cart track we then reach the site of the brand new Sormano observatory under construction in the dark, which will become a reference point for the public and astronomers in the area.

Emanuele, who is not only an astronomer, but also a profound connoisseur of the mountains and nature around us, is waiting for us.

With a powerful telescope and a laser pointer , we will all be able to look far into the distance, peering into the secrets of the universe: galaxies, nebulae, star clusters! How much we have to learn and how many emotions this journey awakens in us!

We then descend into the darkness along the easy path of the Sormano wall , listening to the sounds of the fleeting inhabitants of the night: roe deer, tawny owls, owls, until we reach our starting point again. Surely this night, our dreams will be interstellar!
